When dokuwiki syncs between different domains, http links that supposed to point to the same domain such as [[
http://domain1.com/some_staic_content.html]] will be broken.
It happens for example when used portable DokuWiKi from USB stick where domain is "localhost" then links on real hosted domain will point to a wrong place after synchronization if domain is hardcoded in [[...]].
DokuWikI has a great feature that allows to move/sync data between multiple dokuwikis without worrying about broken links
by substituting SCHEMA, DOMAIN and PORT of currently running copy of DokuWikI.
To point to current URL one just need use following syntax:
[[this>/some_static_content.html]]
Where "this" will be substituted with currently running instance and will point to the same URL regardless of HTTP or HTTPS, listening port or domain, so portable link [[
http://localhost:8888/some_content.html]] will be substituted to real domain on primary, hosted domain automatically and all such links will be accessible regardless of domain.
This feature is NOT described on
https://www.dokuwiki.org/wiki:syntax and since that page is read-only I proposing to add there in the "Links" section information about
[[this>/some_static_content.html]]
which is not visible/searchable now neither over Dokuwiki search or Google
