Is it possible to 'lock' some of the content of a wiki page so it cannot be edited?
I want to make a wiki where people can edit descriptions of caves, or routes within the cave, obstacles, pitfalls, features etc etc. But some initial data needs to be fixed and uneditable. Such as
Cave Name:
GPS location:
Altitude:
Length:
Vertical Range:
Discovered:
Description:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, te veritus tractatos comprehensam vis, ea vix meis iracundia. Lobortis similique forensibus eu eam, eius graeci sapientem nec ea. Partem possit delicata qui ne. Ne vim elit eripuit. Sea dolores partiendo dignissim ut, no saepe nostro cetero his.
All the stuff below description would be openly editable by anyone (or members). But the fixed info. should only be editable by the adminstrator.
Is this possible?
Thanks

Perhaps you can make use of the include-plugin: On the page (A) your users are allowed to write, you at the top include a page (B) with the content, which you marked bold. Via permissions you allow users to write on (A) and you set permissions for page (B) to read-only.

Interesting idea, Virk!...thanks for that, I'll try it out.
I have a feeling I'm going to run into some difficulties because in what I'm trying to achieve in terms of an online repository/interface is half database and half wiki....and I'm not sure that one programme can do both :-/
