Hello,
I was wondering if there's a feature or plugin to tag the current state of the wiki as version - and to (optionally) view and/or search the whole wiki in this version, even if pages are changed later.
The background is ... DokuWiki is for documentation. I use it to provide a manual for a software that is updated very often. Most users use the online service and are happy with the latest version. But there are some users with local installations, using the last stable or an even older version. In the latest wiki they find information that does not apply to their version.
Currently, I create a copy of the wiki via HTTrack (there are some issues, but nothing that cannot be solved) for each version. But this is not elegant and disabled the search feature.
It would be much more elegant to tag the state of a wiki as version (or just to remember the date) and then to use the wiki with the premise to use this version / all contents with the state of a specific date. Including the search feature, of course.
Is there already such a solution?
Thanks a lot for suggestions
(and should an official of DokuWiki read this posting: Thanks for the great software!)
