I have deployed the latest version of dokuwiki on CentOS 7 (3.10.0-229.4.2.el7.x86_64).
I have applied the recommended permissions and made apache the owner of the dokuwiki files.
drwxrwxr-x. 2 apache apache 4096 May 21 13:30 bin
drwxrwxr-x. 2 apache apache 4096 May 21 13:30 conf

drwxrwxr-x. 12 apache apache 4096 May 21 13:30 data
-rw-rw-r--. 1 apache apache 3398 Mar 19 15:29 doku.php
-rw-rw-r--. 1 apache apache 19382 Mar 19 15:29 feed.php
drwxrwxr-x. 6 apache apache 4096 May 21 13:30 inc
-rw-rw-r--. 1 apache apache 182 Mar 19 15:29 index.php
-rw-rw-r--. 1 apache apache 20626 Mar 19 15:29 install.php
drwxrwxr-x. 8 apache apache 4096 May 21 13:30 lib
-rw-rw-r--. 1 apache apache 306 Mar 19 15:29 README
-rw-rw-r--. 1 apache apache 19 Mar 19 15:29 VERSION
When I go to the install.php I get the {DOCUMENT_ROOT}/dokuwiki/conf/ is not writable by DokuWiki. You need to fix the permission settings of this directory! error
Even if I apply chmod 777 to the entire dokuwiki directory I get this error.
What am I missing?

Maybe SELinux is interfering?

That's it! I always forget about selinux... It even crosses my mind at one point but I never looked into it.
Thanks!
