markcarras Trying to figure out why my wiki isn't sending email like it should. When someone registers, they do not get an email telling them their password. I just get a notice at the top of the screen that says 'Notification email could not be sent.' So what did I do wrong? Thanks. I have version 2014-09-29d My host is webhostingbuzz I did the installation using 'Softalicious.'
courtland Mark, there is a good chance this is an issue on the hosting side of things. Unless you somehow got into the dark caverns of DokuWiki and inadvertently flipped some code language somewhere, this is more likely a hosting issue. Can you contact your host for customer support? I know on my support we have live chat, and they are always ready to help. I have a Softaculous install of DokuWiki at my A2 Hosting account and I did not have to do any further configuration to make our emails send and receive. Here is one thing you may want to check, go to your ACP (Admin Control Panel) and look at your "Notification" settings, you must have at least the "Sender email address to use for automatic mails" filled out with an email address, preferably one you have established with your hosting account. I am pretty sure if that field is not filled out, then Doku cannot send emails.
turnermm The 'mail-from' field is not required: https://www.dokuwiki.org/config:mailfrom. This is probably a hosting service issue. If you cannot get your hosting service to allow emails, try the swiftmail plugin.
lovepade Hi guys, I have the same problem. But I host my own dokuwiki install on a small digitalocean vps, with nginx. ( I followed this guide: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-dokuwiki-with-nginx-on-an-ubuntu-12-04-vps) This is from phinfo file * PHP Version 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.9 Any ideas? Thanks in advance Sincerely Andreas
