We are running dokuwiki here on current Macmini Yosemite-Server with php 5.5.27 in our internal Ethernet network. Yesterday I uploaded portions of our wiki to an external webserver (all-inkl.com) running with PHP version 5.5.26-nmm1.
If I now compare our internal dokuwiki with the external one I notice that the external one is much more responsive. Switching from one page to another nearly goes immediately while with the internal wiki I always see a blank white screen (from 0,5 up to 5 seconds) between this switching, as if the internal dokuwiki seems to "think" a couple of seconds before presenting the requested page.
I see this behaviour on three different Apple computers (10.6.8, 10.8.5 and above Yosemite); they all behave comparable slowly. Probably it is a question of misconfiguration
I would like to know what could be the reason for this slow responses compared to those from the external server and how to speed up the internal dokuwiki.
Can anyone help?
lms23
- speed of the server (cpu/ram)
- webserver configuration
- php configuration
- chache configuration
- speed of datastore (dokuwiki use filesystem no database)
there are many reasons

I can imagine but what in detail could I check? For example, how to check whether php is probably misconfigured on all of our webserver-system running with OSX?
lms23
- check loaded modules (webserver and php)
- check memory parameter (webserver and php)
- check if you have activated multi-processes (webserver and php)
- what kind of mac-mini is it? processor? (mac)
- storage? NFS/LUN/HDD/SSD? (mac)
There are many reasons for a speed difference
a smal mac mini with 1,4 GHz and HDD is much slower than a actually Intel XEON WebServer with SSD Storage
