My dokuwiki installation lives in an AFS (Andrew File System), which means that the permissions are not the usual
Unix/Linux ones. I gave the webserver full permissions to read, write, create (permission rlidwk) inside the whole data tree,
and it can indeed change the config files and create files for new pages in data/pages (tested).
However, it does not seem to be able to create cache files (xhtml and i). It did create the subdirectories of the
the cache tree (I started with an empty one), but it gives errors on creating the xhtm and i files:
"writing /afs/......./data/cache/5/53068fd77d36cbe4f119f0a617a54a80.i failed"
"writing /afs/......./data/cache/5/53068fd77d36cbe4f119f0a617a54a80.xhtml failed"
It seems as if the creation of cache files works differently from creating page files. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
Garrelt

Maybe its the owner as well as the groups which are the problem.
I had a similar problem. All files were created with www-data.www-data, but my webuser is/was 10023.10023 which resulted in uneditable pages and and caching problems like yours. So i installed suphp and everything worked fine again.
