Well, i'm often faced with beginning authors having trouble understand the special functionality with space. They copy paste text, from other applications and wonder why sometimes text ist rendered unexpexctetly (enumerations, codes, etc.). Same for newlines in longer paragraphes, which are not always easy to find.
Thanks

I gave them the tipp to copy paste into edit++ and let it show the spaces, etc. to get rid of them.
A button in the editor toolbar would be interesting (though I'm not sure how hard it would be to implement).
An alternative approach, if they use Iceweasel/Firefox, point them at
It'sAllText. When that's installed they can configure it to use Edit++ . A small blue Edit button will appear in the bottom-right of the editor, clicking on it will open Edit++, saving Edit++ will update the edit field. I'd be surprised if there wasn't similar extensions for other browsers.
