I am unable to save the configuration manager changes because of a 403 error. The error is "403 Forbidden. A potentially unsafe operation has been detected in your request to this site ".
The hosting company is a large commercial one. Dokuwiki was installed on the server using Softaculous. It was auto upgraded to the latest version, 2015-08-10a, on 26/08/2015.
The local.php file header shows the date of creation as 21 February 2016. Through file manager, the file shows it has been modified more recently when, I assume, a new plugin is added. Local.php and local.php.bak show the same date but the time is 27 minutes difference.
The error log for the latest attempted save is as follows:
2016-06-01 10:52:29.545 [INFO] [124.149.35.67:50832-0#APVH_mercury.org.au] File not found [/home/mer18871/public_html/403.shtml]
Hosting support response to the question was "I can't see any directories with immutable permissions on them. It appears that your web page is functioning correctly, this issue does however sound like a web development problem if it is on going."
There is no reference to the problem that I can find in any user forum or Dokuwiki documentation.
4 June 16: Continued research has identified a WordPress plugin as the cause. The site runs both WordPress and DokuWiki. The plugin is Wordfence is a free plugin which is used in WordPress to scan for hacked files and to monitor the access of visitors.
