Hello,
At work we use dokuwiki a lot.
We need to have a convenient way for people to write down when they will be absent (holidays and vacation or when they work away from work). Since some users are not comfortable with coding DW pages to fill in a calendar, we ended up using a Google calendar and a combination of two plugins in DW:
- google calendar plugin (
http://dokuwiki.org/plugin:google_cal)
- iCalendar plugin (
http://www.drost-tenfelde.de/?id=dokuwiki:plugins:icalendar)
Some users like the "google" view better while other like the text(list view provided by iCalendar better.
Users need to log into our common Gmail account to input anything (which is inconvenient according to me) but at least they can view the entries from within DW (when they're still logged into our Gmail account).
This solution is sub-optimal to me but users seemed quite happy with it until recently.
Now apparently the iCalendar plugin stopped working at some point (we are currently using the "Detritus" version of DW). Now users thus manage everything from our Gmail account.
I wish we could do everything from within DW instead. I don't like the fact that we share credentials to a common Gmail account...
What would you recommend as the best option to manage holidays etc from multiple employees? Keeping in mind that adding or editing entries should be kept as simple as possible.
Thank you very much in advance for your input.
Best,
