Dear forum users,
I am new here, forgive me if I misplaced my question. I did thorough googling and browsing in this forum, but haven't found an answer to my problem.
I just created a new wiki. I can use Media Manager to upload files, create a link on the page and then download them. But this does not work for files which contain Chinese characters (e.g. 博班修規9903.doc). In that case, I can upload the file, I can see it in Media Manager, but when I click the link on the website, it will show the message 'Not found'. This is the case if even just one Chinese character is there, so the length of the encoded filename should not be the problem.
Tricky is that my other wiki's, installed on other servers, can upload and download such files without a problem. So I assume that the problem may be with the setting of the current hosting server.
Did anybody encounter similar problem? Don't you have some suggestion what it could be or where to search for the solution?
Thanks a lot for the answer!
David
PS: my fnencode is set up to 'url', and change to 'safe' doesn't help. To set it to 'utf-8' does not work at all - the files with Chinese characters cannot be even uploaded.

Sorry guys, after even more fiddling I finally found the hack how to avoid this problem. But instead of deleting the question I will keep it here, in case others may have a similar problem.
In my DokuWiki, I originally changed the setting of userewrite into "DokuWiki internal". Seems that this cause some strange behaviour in case of links with Chinese characters. After changing back to "none", the problem with Chinese files disappears. Not sure exactly why, but now it works fine...
