I can't seem to get the Refnotes plugin (
https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:refnotes) to do anything beyond change the style of the footnotes from
n)
to
[n]
. I expected to be able to define a list of refrences in some file and then use them thoughout the wiki.
I set the config to
use refeference database
and
namespace=:ref:
.
I then created a random page called
references
(assuming the page itself does not matter) with the following code:
<code bibtex>
@Article{:ref:math:Knuth-LCE-1985,
author = "Donald Knuth",
title = "Deciphering a linear congruential encryption",
journal = "IEEE Transactions on Information Theory",
volume = "31(1)",
year = 1985,
month = "Jan",
publisher = "IEEE",
pages = "49-52",
issn = "0018-9448",
url = "http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/articleDetails.jsp?arnumber=1056997"
}
</code>
now on a new page called "my_article", I expected to be able to cite it as something like:
[(:ref:math:Knuth-LCE-1985; pages=1-2)]
or
[(:ref:math:Knuth-LCE-1985>>)]
or some variation.
All I've been able to get from this is:
[1]
. no bibliography, no footnote - just the superscript.
I am not clear from the help page how I am supposed to be using the sources in :ref: (which is not an actual namespace, apparently). It would have been helpful if someone had just made a couple of pages with what the final code is supposed to be, with footnotes, bibliographies and bibtex.
So I am really confused about how to use this. Could someone help? Thanks
