Hi:
I apologize if this question has been answered before. I searched but couldn't find it.
I have a couple of DOCX files in a particular namespace in my wiki. I would like an @ALL user (in other words, someone who is not logged in) to be able to download these files. I have set the @ALL group in Access Control List Management so that it can Read this namespace. However, when I am logged out and try to download these files, I get a FORBIDDEN Message.
What might I be doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.

I can't reproduce your experience (see attached screenscrape).
Possible problems:-
* "safe-browsing" extensions/plugins (try a different browser)
* "anti-virus/malware" programs (try a different computer)
* firewall/proxy restrictions (try a different network connection)
* server restrictions (? - rule out the other possibilities, then contact your hosting support staff)
* miss-configured ACL settings (see the settings I've used in the attached screenscrape)
* something I've forgotten/haven't heard of (?)

As a quick test on the Dokuwiki side, place a .zip file in the same directory as the .docx. Both are marked in conf/mime.conf as downloadable. If you can download the .zip, then the issue is not in your ACL configuration. If you can't download the .zip from that directory but can from others, then the fault is your ACL. Ditto if you can download the .docx from other media directories. The directory should be governed by @ALL 1 for external use.

Thanks for the replies.
turnermm, I did what you suggested, and it seems this is NOT a Dokuwiki thing, but something deeper. Essentially, you can read actual wiki pages while logged out if those pages are set to @ALL Read access, but no files, regardless of type. I tested PDFs, ZIPs, PNGs, none of the get through, all throw up a page that just has the word "Forbidden". BUT, dokuwiki is recognizing the file type, because next to the links the little icon for the file type shows up (e.g. the little PDF symbol, the little Zip symbol, etc.)
SFITCS, I tried the things you suggested. Different browser/computer makes no difference and my settings are exactly as shown in your screenshot. This leaves your bullet "server restrictions" I think.
So I've put a request in to our University tech support types that control the "guts" of dokuwiki to see what is going on and try to solve it, now that I feel fairly certain this is not something I can solve through the ACL and the Admin options in Dokuwiki that are available to me.
Again, thanks.
