Andi Thank you. This servermove
https://www.dokuwiki.org/faq:servermove will be a very helpful guide! Thanks.
-I like your "Read this if you don't get any useful answers." Link!
Dokuwiki is Awesome!!! I've messed with wordpress, concrete 5 and drupal 6! Not as easy.
I just made a mirror image for testing on the server, and it was quite simple in the end!
1. Use puTTY ssh to login to server
2. List the directory and files
ls -l
3. Copy dokwiki directory to doku2 directory
cp -r -p dokuwiki doku2 [-r recursive -p preserves dates & permission]
4. List Directory doku2
ls doku2 [blue is a directory]
5. Create a tar backup of dokuwiki
tar czfv dokuwiki-bkup-1.tar.gz /path/to/dokuwiki [backup dokuwiki dir]
6. Browse to http: ..doku2 and login using one of your logins. I did not have to change a thing!
The mirror directory is so I can learn to use Sed to find & replace image links and internal links.
I assume my goal to upgrade to the international version with multiple languages will be achieved by
1. Download Stable 2016-06-26a "Elenor of Tsort"
https://download.dokuwiki.org/ with all countries checked.
2. Upload tar to server via FTP.
3. Extract tar file.
4. Get it working.
5. Extract tar file from development site which is using Stable 2016-06-26a "Elenor of Tsort"
6. Get it working by moving all the page files under "EN" ?
