I was employed at a workplace that used mediawiki and they invited us to create an employee page to make notes.
I became hooked, and after I'd registered a domain name or two and got up and running, I found I preferred mediawiki to docuwiki at first, until I smacked headlong into MySql and I had to ask myself what my goal in life was, to learn MySql, pay someone else to do it for me, or simply sit back and let rsnapshot back up my DokuWiki installation and be content.
So, here I am with a fairly large mediawiki installation that I am in the process of converting to a dokuwiki for the reasons stated above.
I've got a couple installed on shared hosting under my two domains, just personal and group related stuff, as well as hosting a private dokuwiki site here at home, and I just learned about XMLRPC sync, and got sorta, you know, excited.
Think of me as a hobbyist that loves computers and as a jack of all trades, master of none.
Dokuwiki at home is served up with Nginx on a Raspberry Pi 2. :)
