Subject: Media "linked" or "not linked"  Tool
Media "Linked"   "Not Linked"  sorting tool would be very helpful.

In migrating an old Druple6 wiki, we moved all the media files to one media namespace, and since not all of the files have links in the text, it would be wonderful if we could cull or sort those "unused, unlinked" media and determine if those images should be linked somewhere in the wiki text, or if they are old and can be removed.

Is there such a tool?

Subject: Identify Media that is not "linked"
I would like to identify Media files that do not have links in the Wiki.
The goal is to delete those unused media files.
Does anyone know if there is such a tool or plugin?

In the meantime, as for cleaning up old media files, you might try the plugin unusedmedias (I haven't tried yet).

Not compatible and has not been updated.

Of course, for those of us who manage the Linux boxes on which our Dokuwikis run, we can dive into the structure and delete at will.

Why would that require Linux? Deleting a file (or multiple) is quite simple in any OS or even FTP.

The problem with that, is it often messes up *something* in the arcane PHP guts of the wiki.
That is just wrong. One of DokuWiki's main features is that it works well with filesystem changes. You want to delete all pages in a namespace? Just delete the appropriate folder in the data/pages directory. It doesn't get easier than that.
