Because its a private wiki with private information.
Those pages have names, addresses, phonenumbers, geotag information and so on, so I don't want them to be visible for the Internet. See it like some kind of phonebook, you don't want to publish your private phonebook to the world, do you?
Maybe I should ask the other way round:
Is it possible to automate these tasks (at best on a regular basis):
* logout myself and login as admin
* set acl @ALL to read
* purge/generate spatial index (this is just a button in the administration within the respective plugin-page)
* set acl @ALL to none
* logout admin and login back as myself
