The smilies search are an annoyance. We were using them so editors could find areas that needed work and could comment. I would think you would want to keep the ":" because of its use with pathnames!
First of all we like Dokuwiki,
we would not have moved from Druple6 if we didn't.
Actually, I am still doing workarounds when better
Search and Replace tools native to Dokuwiki should be built-in, IMHO.
Everyone has been very helpful with this migration, and I thank you all for that!
We could not have done it without your suggestions and guidance.
However it was a labor intensive and lengthy process.
We will still have to migrate new submittals of documentation from Html to Dokuwiki, and the Editors we have are not all Linux and many have Windows. To put it bluntly, they are not going to do bash, find and sed. They get hampered by the Dokuwiki tools available.
The result? A few of us end up as the ones who have to do these migrations, unless the Search in Dokuwiki can be expanded to serve as Replace too. We need to be able to find and replace image and link pathnames easily without a lot of extraneous software and transitions. IMHO
See Michael's [michitux] comment about a 1.5 weeks ago. Move Plugin has a lot of the logic, he says it just needs a front end, but he's not going to do it.
