I got a Dokuwiki USB stick working for both windows and Ubuntu by using Mongoose for the Linux web server.
So I hope I have not just re-invented the wheel and so can share my work and make a useful contribution.

Cross-platform? (same installation works on both Windows and Linux). If so I'm very interested in reading about it - and I'm sure many others are too.

I wanted Dokuwiki on a stick for my personal notes. It allows me to access them at client sites without having to go via the cloud. So I am very happy when I discovered Dokuwiki and its usb stick support. I created a Dokuwiki page in my notes on how I got this to also work under Ubuntu 64bit. I am happy to share this but what is the best was to achieve this? Can I email it to someone so they can add it to the current wiki guide next to the wiki on a stick for windows?
Basically I create two partitions (fat32 and ext3) and then install the wiki on a stick for Windows to the fat32 partition following the current notes verbatim. Then I add a few files to the ext3 partition which allows me to start a http server (mongoose) from it. I use a symbolic link to the fat32 partition so that the Dokuwiki scripts and pages are all stored on the fat32 partition.
Its working fine except that I have an annoying issue with the media manager not able to resolve 'localhost' but if I instead use 127.0.0.1 everything works OK. I just posted a question on the forum to see if anyone can help me to fix this irritation.
