Hi,
I have an installation of DokuWiki (Anteater), which I need to move from one IIS server to another IIS server. This seems like an appropriate moment to also upgrade the DokuWiki itself to 'Frusterick Manners' at the same time.
Since Anteater is such an old version, I'm seeking advice on which approach to upgrading and moving would be the best. It seems to me that I have two main options:
A) First move the Anteater version altogether and *then* start to upgrade through the versions (I believe the recommendation here is one year's worth of versions at a time).
or
B) Start on my new server with a completely fresh installation of Frusterick Manners and *then* move the data from the original installation (as well as reinstall various templates and plugins that my Anteater installation is using).
Which approach is likely to proceed the smoothest? I'm leaning slightly towards option B), but I'm new to DokuWiki and I'm not sure if I can just move the data-directory and expect it to work on a fresh (and severely upgraded) install?
Advice for A) or B) ( or C, D, E? ) would be appreciated,
Thanks!
P.S. Sorry, probably this post should have been posted in "Installation and Configuration"

Can you elaborate on why you suspect A) to end to a little less work?
Probably the following should be added to the situation. The current AntEater install is in production and being used actively used every day. Thus there can be only a short offline time.
Because of this, I intend to do a "dry-run" of the migration. If I setup a clean install in my dry-run, then when moving users from the might be as simple as moving a dump of the current data directory into the new install. That's the theory anyway, but not familiar enough with DokuWiki to see what pitfalls might occur.
