Subject: Simple topbar adjustments
Our wiki for grand rapids is coming along very well with help from chi.

http://g-wiki.org

We'd like to do a couple more things with the topbar setup in simple;

1. We'd like to put an edit button it the first menu item.

2. We'd like to have our pop-ups open upwards instead of down. This is based on our design which has more whitespace up then down.

Any help on these would be greatly appreciated.

I think the easiest way to do this is using a special interwiki[1] link which could look like:

edit http://g-wiki.org/?do=edit&id=

And in the topbar use:

  * [[edit>topbar|edit]]
  ...
  ...

I doubt I can help you with this because the template uses CSS dropdown menus ;-) in the topbar. I think you`ll need some javascript for this.

Cheers
Michael

sorry - I thought it would be clear if you`ve followed the link I posted ;-) - which was broken :-(. You have to put it into your conf/interwiki.local.php. I recommend to read http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:interwiki too.

sorry to be a bother - I can't get it to work. I keep getting: http://www.google.com/search?q=topbar&btnI=lucky

I read wiki:interwiki. (not sure I completely get the part about placeholders - do we need some {'s)

I created a interwiki.local.php file in /conf with the following:
edit    http://g-wiki.org/?do=edit&id=

I'm put the following in the topbar feild:

  * [[edit>topbar|edit]]

respectfully,

Woops :-( - sorry, my fault. The file should be named interwiki.local.conf.
