Subject: customize login page
I want to change the content of the login page,  I use a federated authentication base on authshibboleth
and hence I want to modify the traditional login page:

You are currently not logged in! Enter your authentication credentials below to log in. You need to have cookies enabled to log in.
Form:
Log in Username / password

to insert before that traditional login Form a more visible link to the login action (do=login) that uses our federated auth .
Something like, "If you are member of our Institute, please login here (link to do=login)"

How and whare  can I do that

regards .

I have the same question. I can change the file "denied.txt" and the text changes. But i don't like it this way, because it changes it on the whole wiki, but i like to change it only on the login page.
Example:
I change "denied.txt" to welcome.
Then at login i see "welcome".
But if a user browse to a denied page, he also see "welcome".

So my question:
How to change "denied.txt" on the login page to "welcome.txt" for example?

...But i don't like it this way...
Just a thought: An "easy" way without touching non-txt files might be to have no text in the "welcome.txt" and/but welcomes just there where one wishes, in text-form.

Yes, sounds good. An option for me is also to remove loading of "denied.txt" on the login page.
But where is it? I can not find it in "doku.php"
Need help!

OT:
Oh i like users who say "use the search function of the forum..."  :sarcasm off:
This uses me: nothing.
I have searched but not found the answer, because of this i ask in the forum and get the answer "search the forum".
Now i have a "loopback" :-D

The question is:
How can i remove loading of denied.txt in doku.php if the user is not logged in.

Hi there
I'm working on the same problem. I want to get rid of the "access denied" text on the login page. I found the "denied.txt" which can be edited. But I would like to tell the login page NOT to display that text at all.
If I edit the denied.txt file, that text appears on all pages where access is denied. That's not good....

Where is the login page located and how would I remove that denied.txt from there? Or replace it with a nice welcome? BTW I'm not a php guru, so please be patient with me :-)

There is absolutely no need to be sarcastic to express your puzzlement or disappointment. Be warned !

You are getting the denied on your login page because unregistered visitors do not have access to the root start page.   So, the most suitable solution to this would be to have a start page which is readable by @ALL.   Otherwise, you will have to hack the code and that is not recommended and will not carry over between upgrades.

Thank you very much.
So one way can be to edit denied.txt to a smoother message like "You don't have enough permission to see this page. Please login or change user" or something like that.
Edit: Ah or maybe it's possible to made a "start-page" which is readable to @ALL and make a "Login" button on it which is a link to the "real" wiki. Have to try that. Thanks!

And there are several plugins which will automatically redirect the current page to  another.  This looks promising:
    https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:goto
It's been recently updated and is authored by one of the forums regular contributors.

The goto plugin probably will not work for you, since it redirects before the user has a chance to login.
