I posted this question directly on the plugin authors "issue" page, but I figured it is likely someone else knows how to help me get this done so I am posting the question here as well.
I'm creating a form to be used to submit Time Off requests. The email destination is based on which manager is selected. I haven't been able to find a way to do this yet. I'd like some guidance on perhaps what I might try.
The code I am including isn't "working code" but I hoped it would show my intent
In a
select can I save a value that differs from the selection?
select "Manager" "|Gary=Gary@abc.com|Mike=Mike@abc.com|John=John@abc.com"
Is there a way to
set a fields value based on the contents of another?
select "Manager" "|Gary|Mike|John"
email ManagerEmail "=@@Manager@@'@abc.com"
Can I use
conditional fieldsets to set a field based on the selected option?
select "Manager" "|Gary|Mike|John"
fieldset "Manager Info" "Manager" "Gary"
email ManagerEmail "=Gary@abc.com"
fieldset "Manager Info" "Manager" "Mike
email ManagerEmail "=Mike@abc.com"
fieldset "Manager Info" "Manager" "John"
email ManagerEmail "=John@abc.com"
Is there any
logic elements that I can use like
If Then?
select "Manager" "|Gary|Mike|John"
if "Manager" "=Gary" email ManagerEmail "=Gary@abc.com"
Can I start out with a list of managers and
load a secondary page prepopulated with the email address value stored in the field?
fieldset "Manager Selection"
wiki "Who is your manager?
Gary
Mike
John"
If I have to, can I just put their
email addresses in a select and use that for the destination?
action mail @@ManagerEmail@@
select "ManagerEmail" "|Gary@abc.com|Mike@abc.com|John@abc.com"
I've tried permutations of all of these and some others without success. I attempted to slip some HTML and PHP code in the middle of the form and template page as well without success. It's very clear I am still learning but there must be a way to do this.
