In both /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini and /etc/php5/cli/php.ini I have defined date.timezone as
"America/Winnipeg". I restarted Apache after doing this.
However, in my embedded php code 'echo date_default_timezone_get();' it returns
"Asia/Kolkata"
I know I can fix this by issuing 'date_default_timezone_set("America/Winnipeg")'; but I have many PHP embedded code pages that use date functions and would rather set the time globally.
This page
https://www.dokuwiki.org/tips:timezone suggests changing /etc/php5/fpm/php.ini but I don't have that on my Ubuntu server. I'm running
PHP Version 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.22 and on the testphp.php page is correctly shows the timezone as
"America/Winnipeg"
What am I missing here?
