Hey folks,
I'm new to DokuWiki and recently took a go at installing and configuring it. My goal for it, was to create a knowledge base available to any device within my network. So it's not supposed to be accessible from outside my network.
I've installed and used the standard version of DokuWiki from
https://download.dokuwiki.org/ and the "On A Stick" version from
https://www.dokuwiki.org/install:dokuwiki_on_a_stick. However, the main issue I have with both is accessing it from different PCs on the same network. All PCs are windows PC, to include the host. My main issue is that I can't figure out what the actual address those PCs should use in their browsers to get to it.
On the host, to get to the Wiki I can reach it with
http://localhost:8800/. However, I can't get to the server on any other non-host PC. I have edited the URL on the actual wiki's settings page under:
Administration > Configuration Settings > Server URL and put in a customer server address. After saving this, I still can't reach this site on any device within my network.
I also tried editing the "
server name" field under the
httpd.conf file in apache without any success on affecting this. I've also tried editing the file located under
conf/dokuwiki.php and modifying the value for "
baseurl" there to be (
as an example)
http://www.test.com:8800 and it will not load the Wiki from the host nor other devices on the same network.
Can anyone spot anything I'm doing wrong or missing with the URL editing that I'm trying to achieve?
