Actually, I have decided to go with a paid solution, using the Cbox
https://www.cbox.ws app instead.
I have created my account, which also created an iframe bit of code, as well as an https URL.
Within Dokuwiki, you add in the code to a page, but in my case, I've added it into my Sidebar, using:
1) the
Iframe plugin to render the Cbox panel ..
2) the
Outliner plugin. You can use the # to keep it minimzed, or ^ to keep it open.
--> Cbox#
{{url>[URL] 180px,350px noscroll noborder}}
<--
(use the https code)
The good thing with Cbox, is that I can integrate it to Dokuwiki's User Management through an API available from Cbox, which means that users logged in to the Wiki will have their credentials picked up by Cbox in tandem.
The downside of this User Management/API solution is that you are required to use Cbox's Pro account which is $7.50 a month. I currently use the Premium account ($US20 per annum), but the Premium app doesn't have any lock down to users, meaning that it is open to the general public, which is probably not a good thing.
The other thing also, you'll need to white-list your Cbox URL if you are using extensions such as Adblock, Ghostery or PrivacyBadger, as these will stop the Cbox Chat Box from displaying in your browser.
Cheers.
