How do you mean that? Because i wrote „a gallery plugin was no solution for me“. I want to use standard pages, just assistance in placing the images...

Sorry. I obviously didn't read carefully. You'd need something like a file browser that marks groups of files for insertion, and I've never seen that in DW.

Correct. I'm dreaming(!) of this kind of picture handling in DW:
There is no need for a separate Mediamanager. When editing a page, below or right hand of the textedit area all pictures of the pages namespace are shown. One could scroll up/down to browse all. This picutre grid is scalable by 3 buttons in small, medium, large.
To add (upload) new pictures, just drag them from a local folder into the picture pane and drop them there. After dropping the upload starts asynchronously, indicated by a spinning wheel. By clicking on the pictures name it can be renamed at any time. No need to confirm the uploads afterwards.
To place picture(s) on the page, select one or more from the picture pane, using standard Windows selection methods like click, shift-click (range) or ctrl-click (selective) and drag the whole bunch to a position in page. The position is aided by a blinking cursor under the current mouse pointer position to indicate the dropzone. After mouseup the imagelinks are placed.
To delete a picture, there should be a red cross ("x") appearing when the mousepointer enters its preview area.

Well, i wish i had time and skill enough to build this...

Maybe i'm too dump, but is was desperadly missing a feature to place uploaded images in one step onto the wikipage.
Only way i know is to place one image after another. Is there a more faster method to do this?
I often need to place all uploaded or many pictures into the page. An gallery-plugin was no solution for me, because i need to do it very selective. Best for me would be to select images and place the links for it in one step.

The gallery plugin can do this, if I remember correctly
