I don't know the answer to the question, but it seems to me you should make a local server and setup your dokuwiki on that.
Then have a backup copy of it that stays current, and start working on it locally to update.
First try downloading the most current version and installing your files to that, set it up and see if it works, get bare minimum of plugins you need.
Then try stepping back until it works.
Try Dokuwiki-Stick, its pretty good and easy as a starter local server. A little slower.

Rikard,
I see that you are new to the forum. Please consider that most, if not all, of the people on this forum are volunteers who fit support into their business and domestic lives. People live in different time zones. Posting a request at 14:27 Zulu and expecting a reply before 07:57 might appear a little impatient; even geeks have to commute and sleep. On most forums you should expect to wait at least 24 hours, preferably longer and certainly longer at weekends. As the saying goes "you get what you've paid for".

Possibly one of your plugins needs to be updated or removed. Check your error log.

I did a upgrade following the changelog.
There are one version missing in the archive, but it was ok to take the next one.
It worked quit good, only big problem I got is when upgraing php from 5.6 to 7.2, that doesnt work for me.

So which versions did you step through? Just curious. I also assume I need to update each stable release version rather than just upgrading to the newest stable version. But I don't know.
