Subject: Missing expand/shrink arrows in editor (change editor vertical size)
Hello, first post.

I am having an issue where the arrows on the wiki-editor (where you edit wikipages) is gone missing. So I am stuck with the 10 (or so) initial lines which makes editing larger documents quite hard.

I tried to change the size parameter in editor.js to 600 but it made no difference.

Anyone who can give some tip on the matter?

Works fine for me. What DokuWiki version and what template are you using?

Honestly don't remember, as I've had/used dikuwiki for many years and been several computers/installs since.

I use latest MS Edge.

Just to have it checked could you have a look at the webserver logs for any errors? I use Firefox on Ubuntu and can't re-produce your problem.

Another question: does it only happen with your wiki or also if you visit dokuwiki.org?

Sorry I am not sure where to find the aforementioned logs.

Do you mean I should register on this site and try if it works here… I will try.

Edit: I logged in and tried to look at the source for the front page (I can't edit it though^^). But yes, the arrows are working here si it isn't a browser issue.

Which files controls the arrows, I might have to try and replace them?!

Sorry, I use a linux system so I can't tell for windows. The location of the webserver logs is OS and webserver specific (and configurable in the webserver settings). A websearch should help.

The size controls are in a div with the id size__ctl (that's two underscores).  In Edige, click CTL+U.  Then at the top of the page that is displayed there is a menu bar.  The first choice is elements.  Click on that then click CTL+F.  At the top right there will appear a search box.  Type size__ctl in that box and then click on the right-hand search icon.  It should show you the size__ctl div.  If it shows up, then one of your plugins has probably disabled it.  So in conf/userstyle.conf (create if it is not there), enter the following:

#size__ctl{
display:block;
}
Refresh the browser cache.
And it wouldn't hurt to clear out the dokuwiki cache by deleting all the directories in data/cache.

If this doesn't work use the following:

#size__ctl{
visibility: visible;
}
Again refresh the browser cache and clear the dw cache.

Hello

I did the CTRL + U trick and found the size__ctl div. It was there with three entries for the buttons (Larger, Smaller & Wrap). So far so good.

I had to create the file userstyle.conf as it din't exist.

Added the first codeblock.

Uploaded it to the server

KAAAAZAAAAM!!!! The fricking buttons work again….

Turnermm, I don't care what they say about you, you're alright in my book! Thanks a million.

If I understood it right, this is only a workaround for the behaviour of some plugin.

@tww: I would like to know which plugin is causing the issue. Would you mind to remove the workaround and test disabling plugins one-by-one to see if the problem disappears? Of course if you do not want to spent more time on the issue then I accept that. In that case it would be nice if you could at least post a list of your installed/enabled plugins.

Hello

I looked and looked but as far as  i can tell there is no plugins. I checked also the registry \HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppContainer\Storage\microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge\

but no extension folder...

If you have Admin rights then you can see the installed plugins under Admin / Extension Manager. There should be an Admin button/link on your DokuWiki page, if not you might have no admin rights.
