@Samana Johann

Where do you live? What is your country of origin?

"My person" currently dwells in a cave in remote mountain/forest land of Cambodia's central mountains, next mountain Aural, master Michael, and was generously given to take this (re) birth in an area known as Austria this days, in the area of the Salzbourg lakes country, lived most of the time in the south of Vienna. As for origin: it's because of not-knowing and thirst, that beings wandering on. And origin is not even imaginary possible. So those who know and see.

Maybe it make sense to add a short form for your prespan / inline-pre?

Something like this:
Blah blah ![   these are   many     spaces!  ]! blah blah
Thanks Michael, good idea. I added the short form.

The plugin page is online now, see https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:prespan.

I think this syntax is worth to integrate it in the DokuWiki core.

These two people are hard to find in the world. Which two? The one who is first to do a kindness, and the one who is grateful for a kindness done and feels obligated to repay it. These two people are hard to find in the world."

Since having come across for a while... the possible to "liberal" synatx of https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:dl might have troubles with it, if using pre-span at the beginning (if space after might be not needed.) just to mention.

Saying "!Can also start at first line with description only."

Not sure about your/the generous DW-devas/gods policy in regard of "protection" of plugins by changes of cores.

What about '%...%' and giving it a nice class and layout opportunity.

Anyway, possible good to mention at the plugin page, if a "conflict".

Hmmm....or maybe just make monospace preserve spaces. But that would influence existing pages maybe. Also, the plugin can be used with older DokuWiki versions. Let's see what the future brings :-)

The prespan-plugin, after installing, gives following error, just to mention, master Lars:

Warning: Declaration of syntax_plugin_prespan::handle($match, $state, $pos, &$handler) should be compatible with DokuWiki_Syntax_Plugin::handle($match, $state, $pos, Doku_Handler $handler) in /var/www/clients/...web/lib/plugins/prespan/syntax.php on line 96

Warning: Declaration of syntax_plugin_prespan::render($mode, &$renderer, $data) should be compatible with DokuWiki_Syntax_Plugin::render($format, Doku_Renderer $renderer, $data) in /var/www/clients/...web/lib/plugins/prespan/syntax.php on line 96

Oooops, my fault. Based the plugin on old code. This is fixed now. Thanks for reporting it.

Installation without 'troubles' and the previous sample, now 'coded' in combination as ''![  ? …]!'' gives now attached display (not sure if the smaller high of the '' rendering is just one of the many "mobil-device-phenomenas")

Mudita

[Possible of interest for Nyom Lars: tags are missing at the plugin-page as well as the previous mentioned possible 'conflict' with dl-plugin. Possible also of interest: text/codes are generally difficult to mark/catch in tables with the coursers]

And a praxis-sample of the prespan-plugin in combination with verses here (German)

It seems to be a specific malfunction of your browser. I have tested this with 5 different browsers (2 desktop, 3 smartphone). All browsers show the correct rendering.
