Subject: [SOLVED] QuickStats
I use the Plugin QuickStats to show a statistic of visited pages/articles. It's nice but unfortunality the page himself who shows the statistic is counted too.

How could I hide a page so the page would not be listed?

I hope, anybody can give me a hint

Kind regards
Roland

This looks like a useful feature, so I added it to the plugin and  just uploaded an updated version which enables you to exclude both pages and namespaces from the statistics.

I am very impressed that you immediately integrate this feature into the plugin. Wow!

Now I tried the new Plugin but unfortunality nothing happens. The pages that I like to hide still are there. I tried it with namespaces and pages, but nothing worked for me.

What am I doing wrong?

Kind regards,
Roland

Well, you should probably clear both the browser cache and the dokuwiki cache.  You can do the latter by going to configuration options and clicking save.  Or, better  yet, if you can, go to data/cache and delete all the directories you find there.

What is the page you want to suppress?  Give me its complete name, inclujding namespace: ns1.ns2:ns3:page.  Then tell me what you entered into the configuration manager.

I tried all your suggestions, but Nothing seems to help.
I would like to hide the Namespace dokuwiki as given in the following example :

../data/pages/dokuwiki

Then under Plugin » quickstats » xcl_pages I wrote:

dokuwiki:

but nothing happened even after I purged the Browsers and DokuWiki Cache.
I also have tried to hide the page itself like this:

dokuwiki:pagesstats

and also the same behavior here.

Any other suggestions?
Thank you for your advisement

Kind regards,
Roland

Sorry.  The instruction for entering namespaces lost a colon.  Namespaces should have a double colon at the end:  namespace::.  So that should be  dokuwiki::.  I've corrected this in the distribution.

Ok, now I'm one step further :-)

The page that I do not want to see anymore is still there. The only difference now is, that it no longer counts the access.

I newly purged the cache but this did not help.

I'm so sorry, I do not want to annoy you with that, but would it be possible, that the page itself also would be disappear?

Kind regards,
Roland

Quickstats is only concerned with statistics.  For what you want see the configuration options hidepages and sneaky index:

https://www.dokuwiki.org/config:hidepages
https://www.dokuwiki.org/config:sneaky_index

And to prevent others from accessing the dokuwiki namespace altogether, remove read permission from @ALL.

Sorry, there is probably a misunderstanding (My mistake, my english is too bad :-( ).

I don't want to hide a page, I know, how I could do that, for my DokuWiki. I only want that QuickStats doesn't show certain pages in the statistic. For example the page itself, witch show me the statistic (in my example below #2). Why should I show my visitors how often the statistics page was accessed? And every time, when a visitor goes to the statistic page, it counts up. That's not for interesting. And also for help-pages that my users are reading I do not need a statistic over that. Only for real articles with interessting stuff.

So, actually the new release that you have made only stopped to counting the access but the page name still appear in the list.

Or am I wrong? That's what I get from Quickstats:

Num         Page                                     Zugriffe

1           hilfe:dokuwiki:30_cli                       110
2           dokuwiki:pagesstats                         45
3           start                                       41
4           dokuwiki:authorstats                         9
5           hilfe:dokuwiki:10_hinweis-schilder           4
6           dokus:applikationen:it-servicestatus         3
7           dokus:desktops:tcpos:installation            2
8           sidebar                                      2
9           hilfe:dokuwiki:20_syntax-highlighter         2

But number 2,4 and 1,5,9 and also 8 are not for interesting and therefore I expected, that I could hide this pages for listing.

I hope, you undersand me now, sorry.

Kind regards,
Roland

After you have excluded a page, from that time forward, it will no longer be counted in your statistics. But the statistics up until that date will still be in the database.  Since the statistics are collected and displayed by months, it will not be until next month that the excluded page(s) will no longer show up in your statistics.

If you have programming skills and are really determined to remove certain pages immediately, you will find an outline of the database structure in the file db/dataBaseStructure.txt.  You can remove all references to the unwanted pages.  The database files are all serialized.

Thank you for your patience and assistance!

My programming skills are not so good right now. I am currently learning PHP and are still struggling a bit.

I therefore prefer to wait until next month and hoping that the pages then will disappear automatically.

kind regards,
Roland
