Hi Folks,
i use this plugin
https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:translation for my bilingual Wiki (EN/DE) and have some major problems with it:
1.) If i use absolute links for pages and forgett to change the links when translation the page into another language, the link points to the wrong language page. It would be better to eliminate the need to carry the language information in the document path. Instead use an URL parameter or even session parameter to choose the language to show. To make the translations move and transform with the pages/namespaces from where they are created, they should be stored parallel to the source page. Maybe in an normally unaccessible subfolder (".de", or ".en") so only the system can load it and don't show up in index-plugins.
2.) Decouple the need to translate everything at once. If i translate one page, and this page refers to others inside the same namespace, or given as relative path, it shows a dead link. It would be even better to show the untranslated version of that page. This way, one can go page by page to translate, and does not need to translate everything at once.
3.) if i change a page in the "default" language and there is an translation already available, it does not remind me to change this either. I always need to change the current language to look if there is an translation for the page. In the oppisite way it shows if me if the page in the default language has changed. I would love to have it in both ways...
