Subject: plugin not showing after the manual install
Platform: Windows

I manually unzip the package of ckgedit plugin into lib\plugins directory.

I have changed the directory name to the base name.

I even cycle IIS afterward, but the plugin doesn't appear to work nor does it show up in the Extension Manager.

Any idea?

That it is not showing up in the extension manager must be caused by the installation and  hasn't anything to do with the plugin.  Not clear what this means:
cycle IIS afterward

cycle IIS afterward: I restarted IIS after unpackaging the plugin and rename the directory using the base name.

Hi Turner, IIS is Microsoft's web server: "Internet Information Services for Windows".  Apache does not provide binaries for Windows, you have to compile from sources.

I have nothing against windows server, just that I'm not familiar enough with it to  give any advice.

However, for apache on Windows, go here:
