Subject: is it possible to connect dokuwiki with sphinx?
Hi,
I'm looking for a toolchain that can produce documentation on my intranet (so more people)
I'm thinking to a wiki than can write restructuredtext, the process it with sphinx-doc

Is it possible?
Do someone has already done it?

TIA

DW's syntax is different from restructuredtext so if you:
1)  Write in DW markup you will need to convert it to RST, or
2)  Write in RST then it will display oddly in DW.

Assuming you can find a way around the above, DW makes a great deal of sense.  Each page is a text file accessible through the normal filesystem unlike many wikis where you have the same problem as above plus you need to extract the pages from a database.

You can write it, but the syntax is different.  Look at https://docutils.sourceforge.io/docs/user/rst/quickstart.h… and compare it to https://www.dokuwiki.org/wiki:syntax.  Examples:

Indenting text:
  • DW - code block
  • RST - indented paragraph

Text styles:
  • DW - **bold**, //italics// and several others
  • RST - **bold**, *italics*

Lists:
  • DW: * for unordered, - for ordered
  • RST: multiple possibilities but requires explicit ordering.

Sections:
Totally different syntaxes.

-- and plenty more I'm afraid.  :-(

Just for interest I've been copying the examples from the restructuredtext primer into my playground.  The results are not pretty, see the attached. As far as I'm aware DW only understands DW markup unless a suitable extension can be found.  You might be able to use [[https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:mdpage]] but I've no experience of using it.

Edit: The board doesn't seem to accept PDFs.

ok,
my goal is just to made a netwok collection of data (I mean i.e. one entire book written from more people) using rst marup, then pass all to sphinx-doc to obtain html and pdf.

Am I in the right way?

Thank you

I'm not sure what this means.  Unless you are not at all familiar with how to use Dokuwiki.  Otherwise, to use this plugin, open a page in your Dokuwiki and start editing.

Thanks Turner, I'd looked through the extensions for "restructured" and found nothing.  I would like to draw your attention though to the revision date (2015-10-07) and the note about a bug: "Appears to be broken with 2018-04-22b “Greebo” release. The <rst></rst> block doesn't generate an error but text in the block isn't rendered".

Sorry, I didn't see that.  Can @renato07  check his error logs and see if he finds anything that might be related to this error?
