lizat We want to create a Wiki. I tried using MediaWiki, but it proved problematic not least because we are on shared hosting. this meant that Visual Editor could not be used. Can anyone answer the following: 1. Will Dokuwiki run on most shared hosting (usually no Node.js) 2. And does visual editor work in all environemnts? 2. Can I do html to wiki ? 3. Can I load pdf as an image - rather than a file attachment? 4. Can I do Visio diagram to wiki somehow (and display the diagram not an attachment)? 5. Can I link to a sub-web - I have a modeller that produced an html site, it's probably too difficult to port everything into the wiki but at least a link to the website, but within the wiki, would be a step in the right direction? 6. if one can import html to wiki does it import html tables? 7. Can I import Excel or ODF files to wiki? Thank you
turnermm 1. Will Dokuwiki run on most shared hosting (usually no Node.js) Yes 2. And does visual editor work in all environemnts? If you mean ckgedit and the prosemirror plugins, yes 2. Can I do html to wiki ? Currently not without an external converter 3. Can I load pdf as an image - rather than a file attachment? No 4. Can I do Visio diagram to wiki somehow (and display the diagram not an attachment)? Not that I know of. Look for a plugin 5. Can I link to a sub-web - I have a modeller that produced an html site, it's probably too difficult to port everything into the wiki but at least a link to the website, but within the wiki, would be a step in the right direction? You can link to any external site 6. if one can import html to wiki does it import html tables? 7. Can I import Excel or ODF files to wiki? Excell an be loaded into ckgedit's MSWord tool
lpaulsen93 4. Can I do Visio diagram to wiki somehow (and display the diagram not an attachment)? As far as I know Visio can export to SVG and PNG. That could of course be displayed directly but requires an extra step.
