I am looking for a plugin that can execute arbitrary commands, and use the output as dokuwiki code.
Syntax could be something like:
{{passthru "/usr/bin/my_prog [prog_args]"}}
where "/usr/bin/my_prog" would output dokuwiki code on stdout.
A project of mine shows a table of the current status of development (
http://ymorin.is-a-geek.org/dokuwiki/projects/crosstool#status). As of today, I can extract that status with a dedicated shell command, and it prints out dokuwiki code of a table. Then I copy-paste that code in the page source. This means that I have to do that every time that status changes (can be a few times a day...).
Such a plugin would allow for unattended, always current status display.
Of course, that would open a security hole in the system, as any one with edit rights would be able to execute arbitrary commands (of which shells!). But for restricted systems (edits by a known team, chrooted server), that'd be a limited problem, if at all.
