After having installed DokuWiki in an Intranet environment (Win2003 / IIS / php5) I was able to use and configure it. But it's been very slow richt from the beginning although I access it within a LAN environment.
Furthermore the search function would ALWAYS return that no pages were found, also for existing pages, while the index was full correct and would allow to get to the pages. I ran the Indexer with -c to rebuild the index.
Now the search function DOES work, but in index display it will only show me the top level entries and the top level namespaces. If I click on a namespace it will not show me the contant of the namespace. If I make a search on an entry in that specific namespace it will then display that namespaces content also on the index page. If I do the same on another namespace it will then work for that new one, but no more for the one searched before.
I am not sure if the speed issue and the index/search issue are connected. My primary concern is the latter. Does anyone have an idea what causes this strange behaviour of the indexing?

It's gone worse.
I see that now, after having performed the indexer -c, creating pages does not work anymore. If I search for a non existing page and then hit the create page button, it will simply display the start page, instead of opening the editor.
This has worked before.
So now my Wiki has become unusable. What puzzles me, is that I just did a straightforward installation, nothing special. Now it does not only not work, but I can't find any posting on comparable trouble.
BTW: my version of Dokuwiki is 2008-05-05

I reinstalled giving full access to the complete dokuwiki folders. This installation works fine. Moved pages over from old installation, reindexed, now it's ok (and also faster).

What's the approved reindexer to use these days? I'm running this on Windows Server 2003. I see the indexer.php file in there but am not sure how to invoke that from the command line. The Search Indexer plug-in is over three years old and there's no telling if it's compatible with the current version of dokuwiki.
Thanks!
