I'm Necroing this to update that this still works after all these years, so it's so far a stable fix, other than needing to re-apply it after updates, manually, or by patch.
I'll also point out that I guess there are many people who run docuwiki on a stick for personal use, with an apache instance running with user level permissions, on the localhost interface, and never exposed to a network or a multi-user environment, at that point not being obviously different than any user-level file management software. There are also small trusted groups running on private networks with non-sensitive risks. Not everything is a global internet banking system.
I think it would be great if the developers let us use their main fork of the code without modification and also take responsibility for ourselves, but fortunately the modification simple.
