burktech This is strange. When I us the Media Manager to upload files using Windows Vista/IE 8.0.6001 everything works great. When I try to us Media Manager under Windows XP/IE 8.0.6001, the Upload Form and previous uploads do not show. If I use FireFox 2.0.0.20/IE 8.0.6001 then things work great. Now for the interesting part. If I then go back to Windows XP/IE 8.0.6001, I receive the Windows XP login window after logging in to the wiki. If I ignore the Windows login and login again to the wiki, the Media manager works great. I have clients that want to get the entire Media Manager to work the first time they try to edit a page using Windows XP. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.
andi This has nothing to do with Windows XP. It looks like there is something wrong with the authentication. What Authentication Backend do you use? Any SSO setup?
burktech andi, Thanks for your rapid reply. There is no special authentication used on the backend. The wiki resides in a folder on the web server of my client (cpst.org). I have given all users of the wiki rights up to and including upload permissions. I went in again this morning, and I was able to access the full Media Manager from the computer which caused me problems on Friday. I am asking a couple of remote users to try again to access the Media Manager. Perhaps there was a rights issue with the folder on the web site? Do browser cookies play a role in wiki authenications? Thanks
burktech andi, If cookies are turned off in a browser, would that prevent the user from seeing the upload form in the Media Manager? Thanks
burktech Andi, I appreciate your replies but I still don't know what is going on. Users are literally stationed all over the world. Everyone can login. Everyone has upload permissions. Some can access the Media Mager completely and upload and download files. Others get to the Media Manager and do not see the Upload Form which obviously prevents them from uploading and downloading. Since the website configuration does not change, it must have something to do with each individual's browser/OS settings. I have asked them to send me there configurations if they cannot get in, but so far the results are inconclusive. Any additional insight will be appreciated. Thanks.
