retep Running version 2009-02-14b Fedora Core 5 Using XAMPP Own server so I can change any permissions Read lots of posts about this, even a fix in Debian refers to the error. Some users suggest dumping XAMPP and using Apache 2. The error occurs only when trying to access the configuration manager. All other options on that page allow me (Admin) to run the commands. I am not inspired by suggestions that 777 is the "solution". Is this a bug that is fixed in the bleeding edge version? I plan to build a Fedora 11 box "Real Soon Now (tm)" if Real Life does not get in the way, but would prefer to get this playground working. Suggestions welcomed. I am a programmer but not a PHP guru and could provide debug data etc. if told how to get it. Thanks, Peter
