I'm looking at Docuwiki for a software project I'm involved in. One of the key functions we are looking at is how a tool would enable us to take a snapshot or clone the current state of the documentation for a specific version of the software in order to move ahead with documentation to a new version. This is like "tagging" the state of software in Subversion or Git or taking a snapshot of a database.
We are of the mind that writing docs with various caveats and mentions of which versions what functionality applies will be confusing and hard to read.
How would that be accomplished in Docuwiki? I know there is versioning of all changes (what is a wiki otherwise?), but I'm looking for something like a cloning or tagging feature that can show a user the state of the documentation across all pages at a given point in time.
Is there a plugin or feature that I am missing? What is the best practice or common wisdom on this topic?
Your feedback would be appreciated.
