I) On-Topic
On Windows with TYP3installer ( Apache + PHP + MySQL, including a PHP CLI )
http://typo3winstaller.sourceforge.net/
( it is necessary to add
C:\Program Files\TYPO3\MySQL\bin; C:\Program Files\TYPO3\php
to the Windows PATH environment variable )
using Dokuwiki 2009-02-14
a)
PHP CLI on Windows with TYPO3Installer, running
"indexer.php"
http://www.dokuwiki.org/cli
After each step ( clearing the index, searching for files, processing a file), there is a message "waiting for lockfaile ( max. 5 minutes ), and indeed it takes several minutes of waiting.....
as I can access /data/page.idx, indeed I can see that the names of all files that are processed are really included in this file page.idx ( so its working, but TOO SLOW ).
UPDATE: I modified the script so that it runs faster on my system :-)
Look for
sleep(15)
60*5
I decreased both values to
sleep(5)
10
b)
plugin:Searchindex Manager
http://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:searchindex
On Firefox3, the plugin seems to run properly and checks all files, but afterwords the file page.idx does not contain (more) entries...

Why do I want to force the sitemap creation ?
1) I have a development system, and a production system. If I upload new files from development to production system, I might want to update the sitemap to publish it at the search engines.
Btw, I read
"When the sitemap was updated, DokuWiki will inform the following search engines automatically through a HTTP “ping”:"
thats bad, as the sitemap might contain pages which I don´t want to publish to search engines ( ok I protect it with DokuWiki's ACL, but I don´t want to get it checked at all, maybe someday the ACL system is off by my fault,...).
II) Off-Topic
Why Free.Fr ?
Because it is "free".
1)Free tools and free services are affordable by ALL people in the world, especially people in the 3rd world, who somehow can afford a computer, but they don´t have 100s of EUR per year for "services".
I will be a leader of such people who don´t have the "budget" of a typical resident of the Western-Industrial-World.
So I am willing to spend ( expensive ) time for learning, but I am not willing to pay (much) for anything.
People in the 3.rd world don´t have the alternative, they have to look for freebies. So why not share the Internet with them, on the same eye-level ?
And its so easy to say "oh I payed, and I am proud to pay" - Apple Iphone Apps are such an example, where the Internet becomes a "Paynet".
When I tried to become familiar with TYPO3, I was looking for a "Static HTML export" for upload to non-PHP webspace. I was laughted at, because it is an underlaying common attitude, that there is no free TYPO3 webspace,
as the professionals who know how to setup, program/design websites with TYPO3, want $$ for their work, and so why should the customer not pay a few $ for the webspace ?
So nobody was willing to tell me how to publish static HTML from TYPO3, though there are a handful of tools but which do not really work without further explanations...
2)I am satisfied free customer of Free.Fr since 2002 ( running so far my plain HTML2.0 site ).
The search engines know my website since then well....
3)Continuity
While Yahoo discontinued Geocities,
ISP ARCOR still offers free (non-PHP) webspace since 10+ years,
ISP Free.Fr still offers free PHP webspace since 10 years,
Both ARCOR and Free.Fr offer banner-free webspace, i.e. there is no "advertising banner" automatically included on the page, as it was usual 10 years ago when "free webspace" was offered, and as Tripod still is offering... so banner-free ad-less free webspace was rare 10 years ago, indeed. Thats why I became non-paying customer of free Free.Fr services.
ARCOR and Free.Fr are not urged to demand money, as its not their core business.... which might be a reason someday in the future to discontinue the service, but so long nobody cares.
But what do you think is the reason why a hoster, with the core business to provide webspace, should grant 1000s of users free webspace for decades ?
So I don´t trust free offers of small companies, who just have limited power to give freebies, someday they have to ask money.
Do *you* always want to work for no money, if you do it currently ? Or would you like to turn the business so that someday with your skill, you *get* paid ?! So is every business.

I thank everybody for the free support here,
but as I share my knowledge about Dokuwiki here in the forum, and on my linkpage
http://www.hemmerling.com/doku.php/en/dokuwiki.html
, I am hopefully accepted (minor important) part of the Dokuwiki community.
I think that by using Free.Fr, I learned more than using a "perfect" hoster :-).
Especially I am using the concept to separate the development system ( on windows at home ) and the production system ( at the hoster ), as known from 1000s of software systems including SAP,
though Wiki philosophy does not insiist on that.
Sincerely
Rolf
