I've got the current version of dokuwiki installed, with lots of content (maybe 2k pages) and it works like a dream. I wrote my own authentication class, it just checks username and password against the contents of an oracle table and that works fine too. However, once the admin user logs in, every page request after that takes 10+seconds rather than the usual one-second-at-most page load time that can be observed for other logged-in users and for the site if you aren't logged in. Any idea what could be causing this and where I should start looking?
All suggestions gratefully received - thanks!

Take a look at the timestamps on the files in the cache. That will tell you whether or not DW is completely rerendering files for the admin user. Otherwise put a timestamp on either side of your auth functions to see how often and how long they are taking. If you have installed the php extension xdebug you can use that to provide profiling information and you will be able to see exactly where the time is going.
