Did you introduce any errors into your style.ini. Can you pastebin the file?
Please add [SOLVED] to the initial thread subject if you feel your question has been answered.

Subject: A work around found.
Following is dump of style.ini in /tpl/roundbox/ directory.
If I change the __theme__  parameter
manually in this file to match my requirement the error is not appearing.

; Define the stylesheets your template uses here. The second value
; defines for which output media the style should be loaded. Currently
; print, screen and rtl are supported. rtl styles are loaded additionally
; to screen styles if a right-to-left language is selected (eg. hebrew)

To add to this I was trying to change the theme from
configuration manager which is throwing this error.

From backend I am able to change the theme by editing
the above style.ini file.

Have you checked to make sure the proper permissions are set?

I've had issues with that in the past, quite a few times.
