manuela Hello, We are in the process of creating a database for technology-enhanced learning research. This depository of resources should be quite straight forward and self-growing, meaning users add to it as they see fit. As part of the site we would like to give users the ability to leave user comments next to each entry. At this point it is unclear to us how this might be achieved using a plugin. I thought of using one of the blog plugins, for example blostng plugin, but I read that it was not fully developed yet and I am not a programmer. Also, we are planning on using the Arctic template and the database2 plugin. Please can someone suggest how we can achieve this feature on our Dokuwiki site in the simplest fashion? Many thanks! Manuela
turnermm You may be able to use the discussion plugin, available from http://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:discussion
manuela Thanks turnermm - Looks feasible from what I know and can see. Perhaps one question remains and has to do with linking database records to the discussion plugin. If the user arrives at a page where the table is displayed (database2 plugin), clicks on an item, to view the record, the user should be able to leave a comment here. However, unless that comment is channeled back to a higher level of the site, comments will be "buried" inside each record. This may not be the optimal solution. I guess I'll just have to see what happens. thanks again. Manuela PS nice media art website :)
