sonnenblume12 Hello, I would like to use ony wikindx installation for two domains (on the same server). Is there a way to do that (using the htaccess-file?)? Has someone ever tried this? I do not want to have two installations because of disk space and double the work when updating etc.
turnermm You could have two virtual hosts in httpd.conf, both pointing to the same dwiki directory, or you could have a virtual host with the second domain as an alias, using ServerAlias: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/core.html#serveralias But these directives are not applicable to .htaccess.
turnermm Domain names can be set only in apache's configuration files, not in .htacces. However, you might be able to get your hosting service to create the alias of domain2 for domain1 and then you could use rewrite rules in .htaccess to direct your domains to the different namespaces.
sonnenblume12 I want to have the two domains pointing at different namespaces, say Every attempt to access namespace1 should be forwarded to www.domain1.de/namespace1 and every attemt to access namespace2 should be forwarded to www.domain2.de/namespace2 I do not want to have duplicate content (it is said that search engines do not like that, and it will confuse people accessing the page) I only have a "normal" webhosting package (confixx) with limited tuning possibilities, no access to httpd.conf
ach Maybe you're looking for a "farm" setup? See http://www.dokuwiki.org/tips:farm That way you won't have two different namespaces, but two completely different data and conf folders. The rest will be using the same core installation.
