Hello all,
I have recently uploaded Dokuwiki "Anteater" to a host. I am using the newday template.
Right from the beginning i had problems with writing files just like it is mentioned in the Dokuwiki faq (
http://www.dokuwiki.org/faq:write_errors). So i contacted the webmasters and informed them of Dokuwiki's incopatibility with PHP's safe mode which was indeed being used by the host. The webmasters said that they are planning on abandoning safe mode and that they would fix the problem.
After their "fix", i get no "error writing files" but i can't edit the pages of the wiki (the option to edit does not appear)! Even the configuration file cannot be changed (using the wiki's gui). I can create a new page but when i save it i get a "Writing /users/att-dytik/gym-n-peram/gymnperm/public_html/portal/data/meta/_dokuwiki.changes failed". The new page is saved at the server (it is viewable by ftp) but it is not listed through the wiki's interface.
I noticed that they have set every file's permission to 644 and every directory's permission to 755.
To find the user and group the PHP process (web server) runs under, i run the suggested PHP script and this is the output:
"Your PHP process seems to run with the UID 6934 () and the GID 60001 (nobody)"
You can also check out my phpinfo() at the following url:
http://gym-n-peram.att.sch.gr/portal/info.php
I don't know what's the problem and therefore if i call the webmasters they may say it's a problem with my setup of the site.
What can i do to find a solution?
Thank you all in advance and congratulations to Andreas Gohr for a great piece of software.
