Further to a previous Q of mine (
http://forum.dokuwiki.org/thread/7031) on Dokuwiki's templating capabilities, I've started testing Dokuwiki in earnest as a replacement for an existing (and highly complex and unstable) templating system for work. I'd be grateful if folk here could answer the follow-up queries below:
1. I need to create a new document by merging smaller docs in a particular sequence. That is, A.txt + B.txt + C.txt + D.txt = E.txt. Can this be done with a plugin or similar, and if so could someone please point me to the appropriate page in the fine manual?
2. When you create a template page as admin, can you make parts of that template read-only? So if I create page X with particular headings which need to appear in all pages based on that template, can I prevent a non-admin user editing those headings, or can all users with write permissions edit all parts of a page? I expect so, but thought I'd best check.
(2) is relatively minor, but (1) is important. I can go into details if required, but it's to do with creating case studies fro Problem-Based Learning (PBL) for Medical education, where the students only see a bit of the case study at a time, and the 'facilitator' can see all of it in one doc.
I will be reading the fine manual on creating templates, so I'm in a slight hurry the now as I've a meeting tomorrow at which I have to propose dokuwiki as an alternative templating system.
Cheers
Fred
