Subject: Listing/Registration of categories
Hello,

I would like to have automatic generated wiki-pages that list all pages for a category. I use the blog plugin with the tag-component.
Does anybody know, if there is yet such a funtionality?

What I want to do:

My pages are categoriesed into more than one category. So I need a list of all pages by one category, but I havent found such a functionality.

I could also manage my content in a different way if there is an ability to order content to other contents...

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

By categories I'm guessing you mean namespaces? If so maybe this will help:
http://www.dokuwiki.org/wiki:tips:namespaceindex

Otherwise, some of the sidebar style templates offer an automatic indexing in a sidebar menu.

Hope that helps.

Hello,

no, I mean categories. So that your wiki-page is ordered to different (and more than one) contents, example 'snow' could be in the categories winter, water, ..

Categorielists are in wikipedia... like snow is in the category wheater: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Weather

Afaik there is no direct category support at Dokuwiki and dokuwiki is not mediawiki!
But you can take a look at http://wiki.splitbrain.org/plugin:category?s=category this directs you to http://wiki.splitbrain.org/plugin:blog#tag

Please correct me someone if I'm wrong...

Hello,

as I told in my first post, I use the blog plugin with the tag component. But there is not a list available. And by now I don't see the pont of the tag compontent in comparision with namespaces...  perhaps I misunderstood something .. ?

Subject: archive command
Wikimania,

If you are using the blog plugin then why don't you use the ARCHIVE functionality to create an automated list based on tags, e.g.:

{{archive>*?html}}

This would create a list of all pages with the tag 'HTML' attached to it.

Personally I miss a more powerful categorization system such as found in TikiWiki as well.
Regards,

Pat.

Pat,

that was the proper answer I looked to. I tried the command once, but perhaps it was too late then I used it wrong. So, it works now, thank you very much!!!

Bye,
