I have questions about updating the Abbreviations and Acronyms page on Dokuwiki.org related to a thread I started over on the "Community › dokuwiki.org" forum (
http://forum.dokuwiki.org/thread/8061).
1. How does one upload an image, or suggest an image file to be uploaded to the Dokuwiki.org site particularly for pages without a clear "owner" (as compared to a page about a plugin or template developed by a user)?
2. What is the etiquette for a page with an "owner" of sorts (such as with a plugin author)? Is it frowned on to jump right in and make changes to the text because someone else can always revert? Or is it better to email the "owner" (as much as anyone on a wiki is an owner) to suggest the revisions and leave it up to them?
Particular Details
I have been poking around over the last few days searching for guidance on editing pages on the actual Dokuwiki.org site itself. I found the manual (
http://www.dokuwiki.org/tips:good_style) and the teams (
http://www.dokuwiki.org/teams), but those do not answer my questions.
I would like to update the
http://www.dokuwiki.org/abbreviations page based on the replies I received. I would also like suggest the addition of an image that is in the public domain (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ASCII_Code_Chart.svg) to illustrate the set of allowed characters in the acronym.conf and acronym.local.conf files. I do not have permissions to upload anything in Media Manager there. As there is no Discussion page for the Abbreviations page, I have turned to this forum for guidance.
